Myanmar (Burma) is one of the few major Asian countries with a rich and diverse culinary heritage that remains untapped in the Western world. The country's key location in Southeast Asia offers an extraordinarily diverse yet unique cuisine with strong influences from India, Thailand and China. Dan (who has Burmese roots) and Burmese chef Zaw founded Lahpet to make Burmese food popular and accessible. The venue brings Burmese cuisine to the fore by focusing on and perfecting those dishes ubiquitous throughout Myanmar. The restaurant also takes a more contemporary approach by exploring the use and pairing of indigenous ingredients to offer guests more innovative dishes executed with finesse and passion.
